Are contact lenses breathable?

Contact lenses are made up of polymer than has pores and absorb water hence are breathable. They allow oxygen to reach the eye but it is lesser than what is available to the naked eyes. The wearing time of a contact lens is directly linked to the amount of oxygen it transmits to the eyes.
