Can I sleep with my contact lenses on?

It is not recommended to sleep with contact lenses on as it enhances risk of adverse reaction/infection in the eye by 5 times compared to Daily wear. Silicone Hydrogel lenses provide high oxygen to the eye and are a healthy option, however are recommended for all waking hours only.
If by mistake, you slept with contact lenses on, kindly do not panic. Wet/moisten your lenses with contact lens solution or rewetting eye drops. Wait for 5-10 minutes. Check the lenses for movement and remove them only when they are moving (can be checked by nudging the lens edge with the thumb).Do not try to remove them forcefully.
Once removed, clean them & store them in Multi-Purpose solution (MPS) and wear them after 24 hours gap.
If unable to remove them, kindly consult your Optometrist/Eye Care Practitioner (ECP) immediately.
